Fergus Falls AAUW hosts STEAM Girl Saturday, April 14, 2018

The Fergus Falls Chapter of the American Association of University Women is hosting their annual STEAM Girl Saturday Event on April 14, 2018 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the DNR Building in Fergus Falls.

STEAM stands for science, technology, engineering, language arts and math. This year’s event will focus on “Fun with Coding Concepts” and features two speakers in the computer field. They will provide a brief presentation, followed by a video from Hour of Code.Org on computer programming. 

The girls will be sent in smaller groups to the gaming stations where they will have the remaining time to work through the coding-based board games. There are 3 Hour of Code approved coding concept games and two additional games (one programming an electronic mouse to go through a maze and another programming a mini robot using emojis). We will have a yogurt bar for snack and will be soliciting feedback from the girls via survey!
